Dr. Yoodong Moon was born in a small rural town in South Korea. Since he was young, he loved to explore and traveled to many countries. He studied abroad in Australia and Japan. Then he moved to Maryland, where he began his career at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Moon moved to Anchorage, Alaska, and practiced full time as a general dentist for several years, thus gaining broad experience in all fields of dentistry. When his daughter was born, he and his family moved to Palatine to be near his wife’s family.
Dr. Moon remains updated on all the latest dental advancements by continuing to attend educational courses and seminars. When he is not working in clinic, he works as faculty member in Hiossen implant study clubs, giving lectures and overseeing the clinical portions of the lectures. He also diligently reads professional journals and publications in all areas of dentistry. He has completed a leading implant course, Implant MaxiCourses at Loma Linda University, Endodontic courses at DELendo with Dr. Buchanan, and many others.
He devotes many days to continuing dental education courses, well above the requirements of Illinois law. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Chicago Dental Society. Dr. Moon and wife, Yun, have lovely daughters named Adelyn and Evelyn. Dr. Moon enjoys playing golf, soccer, tennis, and table tennis, and loves spending time with his daughters.
In addition to getting dental education, Dr. Barot was also involved in many other activities: She was a research assistant in endodontics and digital dentistry, and a teaching assistant in periodontics. She also volunteered providing dental care to the underprivileged community. She is a recipient of Bisco Inc Award for her work in preventative and restorative care, and Golden Scaler Award in periodontics. She also earned the first place in Predoctoral Student Basic Science Award for her work in the endodontics research.
Following her graduation, Dr. Barot practiced as a general dentist while attending many continuing education courses such as endodontics and Oral surgery mini-residency. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, McHenry County Dental Society, American Association of Endodontics, and Academy of General Dentistry. She is currently pursuing her Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry while serving the community for their oral needs by providing dental care with compassion.
Dr. Barot likes to spend her free time with her family and friends. She enjoys watching movies, going on walks with her family, and playing Lego Bricks with her daughter.
